Luke Gelinas

Short Biography

Luke Gelinas works primarily in normative ethics and the philosophy of religion. He has published on Stoic philosophical theology, in Phronesis, and presented work on virtue ethics, euthanasia, and the problem of evil. He is currently writing a dissertation that explores the relationship between the concept of rightness and the concept of virtue, in which he argues that the former is theoretically more basic than the latter; that virtue can plausibly be explicated in terms of the right. Gelinas holds a B.A. in philosophy from Calvin College and an M.A. in religion from Yale Divinity School. He is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Toronto.
